Department of Information Management

 

A. Course Features

The course feature of the Department of Information Management is the student-centered course tutoring. Generally, practical requirements for students of this department are attitude, diligence, and continuous learning of new skills. Hence, the course features of the Department of Information Management located on this campus are also featured here. In order to keep pace with the times and respond to the digital transformation of the industry, the current course features of this department are artificial intelligence and information security.

 

B. Competition Results

With attitude, diligence and continuous learning of new skills, students of the Department of Information Management are well-received in competitions run by industrial employers. For example, using the rapidminer tool as figure 1 to analyze real business data in the industry, the good performance of the students is favored by the competition organized by the managers. In addition, many AI or information security application results have gradually been recognized in many competitions or seminars.

C. Internship opportunities

Because of student-centered internship coaching, the motivation for students to volunteer for internships is strong. From the time students are enrolled, the Department will work with parents to encourage students to begin exploring career interests and aptitudes. Guide students in formal and informal learning based on their strengths and motivations. After 2 to 3 years of careful guidance by the department and parents, the students of this department have been highly recognized by many internship manufacturers. For example, this year, more than 10 students from this department have obtained internship opportunities at ASE ( https://www.aseglobal.com/ ), one of the top three semiconductor companies in Taiwan.

 

D. Student Career Development

The Department has been providing student-centered career coaching for over 20 years. Many students are also rated well in society for attitude, hard work and continuous learning of new skills. For example, some students have entered multinational companies, and some students have an annual salary of more than 100,000 US dollars. After graduation, these students usually keep a good work attitude, hard work and continuous learning of new skills, and then they get high salary. They usually do good anonymously. Then, back in the conversation with the teachers in the department, they are very grateful that the source of career growth comes from the guidance of the teachers, as shown in the figure below.
